Interior designer

Work environments Do you like to plan – and also to put it into practice?

NOVU plans, implements, and supports customized work environments. We combine circular office design with fresh thinking to create timeless spaces that strengthen company cultures and inspire employees. We rely on pragmatic design, a conscious mix of existing furnishings, tested design furniture from our Second Life Warehouse, and durable new-stock products, as well as modular concepts that our customers can purchase, rent, or freely combine.

For our team at The Circle at Zurich Airport, we are looking for an interior designer with flair for project management who will be responsible for our furniture projects, including structural modifications, from the initial idea to delivery.

Your tasks with us:

  • Project management of furnishing projects: You manage your projects independently, from the needs analysis to concept development, quotation, implementation and handover, and keep deadlines, costs and quality in check.
  • Coordination of structural adjustments: You plan and coordinate structural modifications in existing constructions (e.g., dry construction, electrical work, lighting, carpentry work, painting, acoustics), and supervise the involved tradespeople and contractors.
  • Needs analysis and space concepts: You analyze the working environment, needs and stock, and then develop layouts and furnishing concepts that are convincing in everyday use.
  • Circulatory planning: You combine existing furnishings, furniture from our Second Life Warehouse, and durable new items to create harmonious solutions, taking into account budget and resources.
  • Planning and visualization: You create floor plans, design documents and visualizations (including with pCon), which provide our customers with a reliable basis for decision-making.
  • Customer contact: You are the central point of contact for your clients; you present concepts and conduct project meetings in close coordination with our team.

Your profile:

  • Education: Completed training in interior design, architecture, or equivalent (e.g., structural engineer or interior designer with appropriate further training).
  • Experience in the field of Office/Workplace: At least 3 years of experience in planning and implementing office and work environments, ideally at an office designer, in workplace consulting, or in an interior design office specializing in office design.
  • Project management: Experience in managing or coordinating installation or renovation projects; you keep track of deadlines, costs, and interfaces.
  • Building experience: Practical experience with the common installation procedures and knowledge of Swiss standards and construction processes. You don’t have to handle complete rental installations or complex construction projects; however, you can safely handle modifications to existing structures.
  • Customer orientation: You enjoy direct contact with customers, listen attentively, ask the right questions, and communicate clearly and consistently.
  • Organization: You work in a structured and independent manner, maintain an overview even with several projects running simultaneously, and set the right priorities.
  • Tools: Proficient CAD knowledge (pCon Planner, AutoCAD, Vectorworks, etc.) and secure use of MS Office.
  • Language skills: Very good knowledge of German; knowledge of English is an advantage.

What we offer you:

  • A young and dynamic team: We look forward to getting to know you!
  • Flexible working hours and locations: So that your job can be optimally integrated into your life.
  • Lots of design freedom: Your ideas are in demand and you have the opportunity to make an active contribution.
  • Regular team events: From Monthly Breakfast to indoor skydiving, we make sure the fun never stops!
  • A modern workplace: Our office and showroom in The Circle at Zurich Airport covers 4,000 square meters.

Sounds interesting? Then we look forward to your application! Whether by video, in writing, or in a creative way: we are open to everything and look forward to meeting you.
